Chris van Wyk‘s exciting journey started when Michelle from CTU Nelspruit introduced him to Steel Image as they were also running an accredited Skills Development Centre, training Welding apprentices, They are currently running our 3rd year and have 25 Apprentices of which they host some for practical training as well.  They were in need of more help on their development side when Michelle introduced Chris to them. Chris was employed by Steel Image on a temporary basis, he earns a small basic and they supplied him with a fully specked laptop to be able to load his software for studying.

Chris has proven his dedication to them and he has developed into an outstanding employee. He is extremely humble and innocent and has a firm base he is very proud of. Chris has been actively involved on the Project planning of Pretoria University, which included on-site measurements, on-site project meetings, drawing from site to workshop, planning, scheduling, ordering of material and costing.
Chris has planned, designed, drafted, and executed new developments which Steel Image are currently busy with which include KTM Development, Gallito’s franchise development and various smaller projects. He stands proud in his number 16 shoes and will be advantage to any design or development firm.

Steel Image has been established since 2000, supplier, manufacture and installation of mainly Mild Steel products, which varied from gates, balustrade, palisade, louvers, canopies etc. STEEL IMAGE progressed in 2004, and focussed on specialising in Stainless Steel. Having a manufacturing back ground, the versatility in Stainless Steel work grew. As the business grew it enabled them to import a Mandrel bender from Portugal, and proud to say the only one in Mpumalanga region. They were introduced to Electro polishing after a visit in Durban. This process is fascinating and they decided in 2006 to install their own Electro polishing plant. Combining quality workmanship with high grade materials ensures that you will have a product that will last you a lifetime. Their plant is one of only a handful in the Country. Stainless Steel is extremely satisfying to manufacture, create and be part of the end product.

They have done various projects which include the following building in Nelspruit and surrounding areas:
Autotec (Volvo) Building; Mazda, Ford Building; Westvaal Delta Building; Riverside Mall
Mr Price; Ilanga Mall; SAPS; Ehlanzeni New Municipal Buildings; DMC Buildings
Lebombo borders post; Pretoria University; Several Office Blocks; Project in Mozambique
Steel Image, and their dedicated and skilled team, which includes Chris, has the freedom to be part of the creative manufacturing process in Stainless Steel
